Preparation, morphology, FTIR and performance properties of foaming particleboard

Abstract The application of light weight particleboard in furniture industry becomes more inevitable because the requirement to facilitate transportation and assembly by customer. Herein, a novel method for fabrication foaming was proposed, which is achieved adding azodicarbonamide (AC) agent into formulation that consist oven-dry poplar ( Populus alba ) particles (with moisture content about 4%) phenol formaldehyde resin (PF resin) (solid 48%). In this study, effects AC adhesive contents incorporation its on mechanical, physical chemical properties particleboards were investigated. results showed addition played critical role optimal performance at density 0.6 g/cm 3 , PF amount 12%, 1%. Furthermore, pores appeared particle surface products radical pyrolysis agent, has been proved FTIR also affect particleboards.
